Wellington is one of 75 towns and villages in the South West to enter the Britain in Bloom competition run by the Horticultural Society. In the last 7 years we have won the Portman Cup five times and been Gold Medal winners on six occasions.
These achievements come from an enthusiastic community which has worked together over 24 years. We are concerned about our local environment , as well as gardening and excellence in horticulture.
The town welcomes South West in Bloom judges in July each year. They visit schools, businesses and industrial developments, as well as allotments, neighbourhead schemes and our Edwardian Park.
During the summer we run a local commercial and residential competition to select the best displays provided by businesses and private gardens. When not judging floral displays, we help our street cleaners keep litter, grafitti and dog litter from our streets. We work with all groups in the community to provide a good quality of life for the residents of Wellington.
